Success Academy Charter Schools (Success Academy) is redefining what’s possible in public education. With 47 schools serving 20,000 students in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, Success Academy is delivering on its promises to provide the ladder for scholars to climb to fulfill their immeasurable potential. Success Academy empowers students to imagine a bright future and achieve it, delivering opportunity through an exceptional education, and speaks out against forces that stand in the way of every student attending to a top-notch public school.

Under the leadership of Founder and Chief Executive Officer Eva Moskowitz, Success Academy is at a pivotal and transformational moment in its accomplished history. The organization is preparing for a historic comprehensive campaign to meet its ambitious goal of operating 100 schools in New York City. Amongst these 100 schools, Success Academy is preparing to create a state-of-the-art K-12 campus which will provide a one-of-a-kind pedagogical experience for over 2,000 scholars. The campus’s planned innovations in instruction and curriculum design will create the fulcrum where policy makers, educators, and civic and business leaders around the world can visualize and reimagine the future of public education.

Success Academy seeks an extraordinarily ambitious and imaginative Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to lead the organization’s continued philanthropic growth and excellence. In partnership with Success Academy’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Board of Trustees, and the Executive Leadership Team, the successful CAO will design and implement fundraising initiatives to generate the revenue and expand the brand needed to surpass Success Academy’s ambitious dual mission. The ideal candidate will have genuine and unwavering passion for the scholars and shared values with Success Academy’s dual mission.

To expand philanthropic support, s/he will further penetrate the New York philanthropic marketplace and take Success Academy’s message to targeted philanthropists and foundations nationally. The ideal CAO will be an inspirational and highly effective communicator of Success Academy’s commitments to scholar success and educational reform to policy makers, educators, parents, and leaders on the national stage.

The CAO will report to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer and serve on the Executive Leadership Team. S/he will have three direct reports and lead the Advancement team of 16. The successful candidate will be an inspirational advancement leader with a demonstrated track record of success in fundraising. In addition to passion for the mission, the ideal CAO will bring strong relationship management skills, intelligence, creativity, and dedication to best practices in advancement.
